- Specification
- Product Description:
- Mouse monoclonal antibody raised against CD6.
- Immunogen:
- Purified human CD6 antigen.
- Host:
- Mouse
- Reactivity:
- Human
- Specificity:
- The CD6 antibody reacts with a 110-150 KDa cell-surface protein present on most thymocytes and peripheral T lymphocytes, but not on all B lymphocytes, the majority of T lymphocytes expressing TCR, NK cells, monocytes, or granulocytes. This antibody reacts with a 120 KDa single chain membrane glycoprotein specific to the CD6 antigen. The antigen is found on >80% normal mature T cells and a sub-population of B cells in peripheral blood. The antigen also exhibits weak expression on cortical thymocytes and the majority of chronic B lymphocytic leukaemias.

- Gene Summary:
- CD6 is a monomeric 105- or 130-kD membrane glycoprotein that is involved in T-cell activation. The size difference between the 2 CD6 forms is due to differences in phosphorylation (Robinson et al., 1995 [PubMed 7589069]).[supplied by OMIM
